Terms and acceptable use
Short version: use it to test monitoring software, not to attack anything.
What this service is
A free, temporary testing service. Labs last 4 hours and then disappear, along with every device in them.
Allowed
- Testing and evaluating network monitoring software.
- Normal SNMP polling of the devices you created.
- Experimenting with fault scenarios and alerting.
- Demonstrations, training and proof-of-concept work.
Not allowed
- Denial-of-service attempts, flooding or stress-testing the service.
- Using the SNMP endpoint as a reflection or amplification source against anyone.
- Automated high-volume creation of labs or devices.
- Attempting to work around quotas or rate limits.
- Attempting to reach other people's labs or devices.
- Probing or attacking any infrastructure connected to this service.
The SNMP endpoint is rate-limited and answers only to valid device communities, specifically so it cannot be turned against a third party.
No guarantees
- This is a temporary service with no uptime guarantee.
- Labs expire after 4 hours and are not recoverable.
- Data may be removed at any time, including during maintenance or resets.
- The service may be changed, limited or withdrawn without notice.
Do not build anything that depends on a device still being here tomorrow.
Abuse handling
Usage that harms the service or others may be rate-limited or blocked. We would rather set a limit than take the service away from everyone.
